The month of January was particularly disappointing for Disney+. The streaming platform wakes up (a little) in February 2024, with many interesting new films, series and documentaries in its catalog. Will this be enough against Netflix, Prime Video and Canal+? Only time will tell.
Before presenting you with the complete list of additions to the service in February 2024, here as usual are our favorite series and films of the month.
The Disney+ series of the month
Shōgun
Japan, year 1600. At the dawn of a civil war that will mark the century, John Blackthorne, English commander of a ship stranded on the beach of a fishing village, is the bearer of secrets that could tip the scales in favor of Lord Yoshii Toranaga, engaged in a fight to the death against his enemies from the Council of Regents. The destinies of Toranaga and Blackthorne will be inextricably linked to their translator, Toda Mariko, a mysterious Christian woman, the last of a line that has fallen into disgrace.
Warning: big series approaching. Adapted from the bestseller by James Clavell, Shōgun is the new ambitious series from the FX channel, already behind the emblematic series Sons of Anarchy, Fargo, American Horror Story And Atlanta. It is co-created by Justin Marks (Top Gun: Maverick, The jungle Book) and Rachel Kondo, and promises slick production, stunning images and a gripping plot. All the elements to make Shōgun the series not to be missed in February.

Spectacular turn of events
In London, in the heart of the 1950s. Preparations for the film adaptation of a successful play are brutally interrupted by the murder of its Hollywood director. In charge of the investigation, the jaded Inspector Stoppard and the young agent Stalker find themselves plunged into the heart of an investigation behind the scenes, both glamorous and sordid, of the theater.
You have loved At loggerheads ? Spectacular turn of events is made for you. A mysterious crime, an atypical place (a theater), a handful of colorful characters like so many suspects, all sprinkled with a comic and “so british” tasty. A nice decorum that does not go without its casting of sympathetic actors, Sam Rockwell (3 Billboards) and Saoirse Ronan (Lady Bird) on your mind. A delight.
