There are only four episodes so far, but the third season of “Bridgerton” is already a huge success. More viewers have tuned in than ever before.

Season three of “Bridgerton” has apparently become the most successful season of the popular Netflix series in terms of viewership. Since the streaming service has only released four episodes and the second part of the new episodes is still to come, season three could break more records.

45 million views for the new “Bridgerton” episodes

According to the US industry portal “Variety”, “Bridgerton” was the most-watched title on Netflix between May 13 and 18. The first four episodes of season three, which were released on May 16, reached 45.1 million views in their first weekend on the streaming service, according to the report. The new episodes are therefore the most successful of the series to date. “Bridgerton” will probably remain in Netflix’s top 10 lists for a few more weeks before the premiere of the second part on June 13 will probably ensure a further increase in viewer numbers.

Fans of the TV show, which is inspired by the bestsellers by Julia Quinn (54) and follows the siblings of the Bridgerton family in search of love in London’s high society in the early 19th century, will be excited to see what happens in part two of the new season continues. The current episodes focus on Nicola Coughlan’s (37) character Penelope Featherington and her story with Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton, 31). Episode four ended with a cliffhanger.

That’s what season three is about

While Colin Bridgerton returns from his great journey through Europe as a changed man in the new episodes, Penelope wants to marry Featherington in order to escape her unloved sisters and especially her domineering mother Portia (Polly Walker, 58). But her efforts initially seem rather clumsy. Her childhood friend Colin Bridgerton wants to help and teaches her the art of elegant flirting. With a little too much success…
