New film “Sniff”
Sex, drugs and murder with Freeman, Mirren, DeVito and Pacino
With Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman, Al Pacino and Danny DeVito, four big stars should be seen in the new film “Sniff”.
This film is likely to cause a sensation – if only because of the story and the cast. Like the industry magazines “The Hollywood Reporter” and “Deadline” report, Morgan Freeman (84), Al Pacino (81), Helen Mirren (76) and Danny DeVito (76) are to play in the newly announced project “Sniff”. Taylor Hackford (76) will direct.
A crazy story
“Sniff” is supposed to be about a reinvention of film noir. According to the description of the film, two residents are killed under mysterious circumstances in a posh retirement home. Joe Mulwray (Freeman), a retired detective, and former partner William Keys (DeVito) encounter a dark underworld filled with drugs, sex and murder in the settlement. The masterminds behind it all? Harvey Stride (Pacino) and the femme fatale “The Spider” (Mirren).
It will take a while before the whole thing can be seen. A film distributor has yet to be found, but that shouldn’t be too much of a problem with the story and the cast. According to “Deadline”, producer Adam Goodman says that filming should start in the first quarter of 2022, if possible. At best, “Sniff” should appear at the end of 2022.
