Intel has chosen the summer to announce some new software that will primarily benefit gamers. It is true that we hear little about home-made Arc graphics cards, which are struggling to find a place in a market already cannibalized by Nvidia and AMD, but Intel continues to work on its copy to improve it since the release. .
Up to 19% more performance
Intel has just deployed an update to the drivers for its Arc GPUs in order to improve performance in Direct X11 games by 12 to 19% on the A750. A rather impressive result considering the purely software origin of the gains obtained by Intel engineers. The titles concerned are not very recent, but some like Dota 2, GTA Online, GTA V Or Apex Legends are still widely played today.
Of course, the gains vary from one game to another and Intel noted from +5 to +33% more performance with an Intel Core i5-13400F, or +19% on average. For the tests carried out on a Core i9-13900K, the benefit is “only” 12%, which remains appreciable. Note however that these results were obtained in 1080p and that we do not know the impact of these new drivers on higher definitions.

Alas, this extra performance only benefits in-house GPUs and competitors Nvidia and AMD will not be entitled to it for their GeForce and Radeon.

New monitoring software
Another interesting element, the manufacturer presented a new tool for monitoring its components, mimicking software such as FrameView, HWInfo or MSI Afterburner. Called PresentMon Beta, the interface offers fairly standard features, but it appears clear and offers easier graph management for better data analysis. It is also possible to export the CSV files afterwards to consult the results in Excel or other.
Available for download on the Intel site and GitHub, the software is compatible with all GPUs, even those from AMD and Nvidia.
