New merry-go-round accident in Cap d’Agde: a 20-year-old man between life and death: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

It was a terrible tragedy that took place on the night of Tuesday August 29 to Wednesday August 30, 2023. A 20-year-old young man, who worked on the maintenance of one of the Luna Park attractions located on the Island of Loisirs in Cap d’Agde (Hérault), was the victim of a serious accident. Several similar accidents at Luna Park

This tragic event is not the first of the summer at Luna Park. On the night of Saturday August 5 to Sunday August 6, 2023, a 17-year-old boy died and a 19-year-old woman was seriously injured. Both wanted to try one of the flagship attractions, Adrenaline. It is a giant swing intended to propel two people lying on a basket to a height of 60 meters, before being released into the void at a speed of 110 km/h. The two victims were tied together and were thrown against a pole before crashing into the structure. As stated Metropolitan at the time of the events, both were ejected from the carousel and only the young woman could be saved. Following this tragedy, an investigation to establish the exact circumstances of the accident was opened. The carousel was immediately closed and then placed under judicial seal. Moreover, he had already been the scene of a serious accident in August 2019. The victim, a 50-year-old, had managed to get out of the basket, a few meters from the ground.
