Popstar Zara Larsson and Edvin Ryding of “Young Royals” star in a new Netflix film. Here’s what you need to know about the teen drama “A Part of You.”
Notice to Young Royals fans, Edvin Ryding, the interpreter of Willhelm, is starring in a new Netflix production. The actor stars in a moving, bittersweet Swedish drama about coming-of-age and being left behind.
The 21-year-old shares the screen with Zara Larsson, popstar best known for her hits “Uncover”, “Lush Life” and her collaborations with David Guetta, “This One’s for You”, sung for Euro 2016, and most recently “On My Love”.
‘Young Royals’ Star in Heartbreaking Teen Drama
While the singer – who is making her acting debut – only has a small role in this new Netflix film, Edvin Ryding is one of the headliners along with another Young Royals actress, namely Felicia Maxime, and two other well-known Swedish actresses: Alva Bratt, seen in Quicksand and Barracuda Queens, and Ida Engvoll, seen in Love & Anarchy.
All these beautiful people are therefore in the casting of A Part of You, available today on Netflix, which may touch your heart. This feature film directed by Sigge Eklund tells us the difficult journey of Agnes (Felicia Maxime), who lives in the shadow of her older sister Julia (Zara Larsson).
The latter has everything her younger sister dreams of: she’s the coolest person in school, the star of every party, and she’s going out with the handsome guy from school, Noel (Edvin Ryding). When tragedy strikes, Agnes’ world turns upside down and the teenager is forced to reinvent herself. Suddenly, she’s about to get everything she’s ever wanted. But at what cost ?
Thanks to fine writing and stunning performances, A Part of You succeeds in capturing the complex journey of tormented adolescence, the fears and pressures that a young person can inflict on themselves and the contradictory and destructive feelings inherent in the transition to adulthood with great sensitivity and stunning authenticity.
