The comedy “They Cloned Tyrone” has started on Netflix and shows Jamie Foxx alongside an old acquaintance from the “Star Wars” universe in a mix of sci-fi and mystery.
- The comedy film They Cloned Tyrone will be available on Netflix on December 30, 2022.
- In addition to Oscar winner Jamie Foxx, “Star Wars” hero John Boyega can be seen in one of the leading roles.
- Producer Jamie Foxx also co-wrote the screenplay for They Cloned Tyrone with Kiefer Sutherland.
Crazy novelty at Netflix: “They Cloned Tyrone” starts a wacky mix of science fiction, mystery and comedy, which in the trailer is a little reminiscent of the legendary cinema outlier “The Fifth Element”, coupled with blaxploitation rip-offs from even longer past decades.
This is mainly due to the quirky costume of Jamie Foxx, who is largely responsible for the film not only as part of the main actor trio, but also as producer and screenwriter. In addition to Oscar winner Foxx, an old acquaintance from the “Star Wars” universe is also part of the strange clique, who rather accidentally track down a major conspiracy:
John Boyega, who starred as Fynn in the latest Star Warriors trilogy alongside Daisy Ridley, is part of the gangster squad, along with Teyonah Paris, who find retro-looking hidden labs conducting secret experiments on African Americans. Sounds crazy – it is: “They Cloned Tyrone” will be available to all Netflix users from December 30th.
