Love at First Sight on Netflix

We weren’t betting much on Netflix’s new romantic comedy, especially after their last interactive disaster. But subscribers do not seem to have a hard time against the platform for giving a chance to this production carried by Haley Lu Richardson (The White Lotus) and Ben Hardy (Bohemian Rhapsody). Just four days after its release, The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight (try saying that out loud…) ranks second among the most viewed films currently.

It didn’t take much to convince us to take a look. If you watch it in original version, like us, you will be pleasantly surprised to hear Jameela Jamil’s so British and so chic voice. The former Tahani from The Good Place plays a character with many faces, a sort of angel who observes the story of Hadley and Oliver and who allows herself a little help from time to time to force destiny.

Let it be said, The statistical probability of love at first sight does not reinvent the genre. Some will find that he uses the clichés of the genre, others that he has a certain sensitivity which is good for the heart. And we agree with them on this point. Haley Lu Richardson and Ben Hardy form an endearing and touching couple on screen. The two actors have an undeniable chemistry that allows you to believe in this story. We let ourselves be transported into their adventure, with a smile on our lips.

This film has in any case melted the hearts of many Internet users, as evidenced by these few tweets:

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight is an adaptation of a 2012 book by author Jennifer E. Smith. This is not the first time that Hollywood has taken his writings and adapted them for the big screen. Last year, subscribers were notably able to discover Hello, Farewell, and Us in the Middle on Netflix, a romantic comedy with Jordan Fisher and Talia Ryder.
