USB-C port or not? The question is on everyone’s lips as soon as we talk about the imminent arrival of the iPhone 15. It’s been some time since Europe imposed the USB-C port on all smartphones sold on the continent from 2024. Except that the iPhone 15 is scheduled for September or October 2023. It is therefore legitimate to wonder whether or not Apple will take the lead in integrating the universal port this year, or whether the brand will play for time as long as possible.

The many leaks that have flourished on the Internet suggest that the iPhone 15 will indeed have a USB-C port in Europe. New photos even show the different colours to which we should be entitled. Black, pale blue and pastel green. We note that the entire port is tinted, not just around the edges. This would make the whole thing look more seamless, and remains consistent with that other leak which shows USB-C cables matching the iPhone 15s.

The iPhone 15 would have a USB-C port and a pastel green model

Hard to tell if actual color will be close or far from photo, but as is, it is not original. The shade of green looks very similar to what could be found on the 2020 iPhone 12. Note that although the shot is authentic, this does not mean that a green model will be available as soon as the iPhone 15 is released. Apple is used to offer new colors a few months after the launch of his new smartphone. Usually around spring.

In any case, this new leak reassures as to Apple’s willingness to comply with the requirements of the European Commission, which the company does not seem ready to do on the issue of removable batteries. We are still expecting a twist that would allow the brand to keep a semblance of control over his system. Recent rumors about the iPhone 15’s USB-C port seem to point in that direction.
