There will also be severe thunderstorms in the southwest. In northern and central Hesse, on the other hand, fog is expected in places. The weather will calm down again for the weekend. In the north it remains changeable.
After restrictions on train traffic between the Netherlands and North Rhine-Westphalia due to a heavy thunderstorm on Thursday, long-distance trains ran again on Thursday evening without restrictions, as Deutsche Bahn announced on Thursday evening on Twitter. The route between Cologne and Düsseldorf is now free again after the overhead line has been repaired.
Due to the storm, trains on the route between Cologne and Amsterdam were temporarily diverted via Venlo on Thursday. Delays and cancellations are said to have occurred. Meanwhile, train travelers were asked to check the travel connection on the online portals or the train app.
