BERLIN, Feb 22 (Reuters) – German union Verdi announced on Thursday six days of strike action next week in public transport, from February 26 to March 2, in support of demands for better pay and working conditions.
Depending on the region, he said, the actions will be organized on different days of the period, and will extend over several days in the majority of cases.
The main day of the walkout is scheduled for Friday March 1, which will coincide with a day of protests organized by the German branch of the climate movement “Fridays for Future.”
German public transport was already heavily affected by a strike at the beginning of February.

Verdi, who negotiates on behalf of around 90,000 employees of more than 130 municipal companies, says negotiations with employers have stalled in all regions.
At the heart of the negotiations is the improvement of working conditions, with Verdi demanding a reduction in weekly working hours and an increase in paid leave.
