Before sport is after sport! According to a new study, anyone who eats this food every day should be able to avoid nasty muscle pain after training.

Tired of annoying sore muscles after training? According to a new American fitness study, you should be able to prevent unpleasant muscle hardening with the help of a certain food. We reveal which food should be on your menu from now on.

Sports friends watch out! In this way you can promote the recovery of the body after exercise

Study leader David C. Nieman and his research team Appalachian State University in America found in a study that daily consumption of almonds helps the body to relax and recover after exercise. The study has already been published in the journal Frontiers in Nutrition.

According to Nieman, the oxidized fat molecule 12,13-DiHOME found in almonds is crucial. The substance means that the sore muscles can be weakened. The fat molecule regulates sugar and fat metabolism and energy regulation. Physical tension and stress can be reduced by this substance.

Goodbye sore muscles! Hello almonds!

A total of 64 untrained subjects took part in the study. Of these study participants, 32 received 57 grams of almonds daily over a period of four weeks. The other 32 got granola bars instead, which had an adjusted calorie count. After intensive sports units, urine and blood samples were taken. It turned out that the group of almond eaters had a greatly increased value of the fat molecule. The proportion was 69 percent higher than in the granola bar group.

Granola bars vs. almonds

The test persons in the almond group stated that they recovered physically more quickly after training and did not feel as tired, listless or exhausted after the sports units. In addition, her leg and back strength was stronger and the sore muscles occurred less or not at all. However, the research team did find an elevated level in the blood in both groups, indicating minor muscle damage.

Conclusion: Fitness fans who are looking for a change from bananas can now snack on a handful of almonds every day and see whether sore muscles can be alleviated or even avoided. Almonds and other nuts are of course healthy and recommended for everyone – apart from allergy sufferers, of course, who better not grab them here.
