New sustainable investment fund DWS Invest ESG Women for Women focuses on social issues

(Boursier.com) — DWS today launches a new equity fund focused on sustainable development. The DWS Invest ESG ‘Women for Women’ fund invests globally in companies that emphasize environmental protection, good corporate governance and fair treatment of their employees. The fund pays particular attention to the social aspects of ESG criteria.

The DWS Invest ESG Women for Women fund is managed exclusively by women and specifically targets the needs of women when selecting their investments. To select companies that perform well in terms of social values and fair working conditions, the team of 12 female portfolio managers led by Katharina Seiler, Valerie Schueler and Lilian Haag uses the DWS Social Commitment Score.
This score assesses companies on five factors: Beyond working conditions throughout the value chain, the themes of equal rights and opportunities, gender parity in management , work-life balance and flexible working environment are included in the analysis.

“The fund’s selection includes companies that are leaders in the ‘Social Commitment Score’ as well as companies for which the fund management perceives particularly significant progress”, explains Katharina Seiler. Companies are also subject to traditional fundamental analysis that focuses on business model, management, and growth and valuation issues. The managers of the DWS Invest ESG Women for Women fund also focus on long-term investment trends such as digitalisation, education, renewable energy, infrastructure, healthcare, research and connectivity.
