New terrible attack in Grande-Synthe, a 15-year-old teenager severely beaten before having his clothes stolen: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

In recent days, the town of Grande-Synthe, in the North, continues to be talked about for the wrong reasons. Indeed, less than a week after the death of Philippe Coopman, 22 years old, a 15-year-old teenager was in turn brutally attacked. The events took place on the night of April 19 to 20, 2024, Charlotte Huet, the public prosecutor of Dunkirk, informed our colleagues at Parisian, Saturday April 20. She explained that the victim had been “victim of aggravated violence” without saying more about the conditions of this attack. In addition to being injured, the young man had several of his personal belongings stolen, including his clothes and shoes. Transported to hospital, his vital prognosis is not in jeopardy. Charlotte Huet clarified that the teenage victim of this attack is the cousin of one of the people who was indicted, on April 19, as part of the investigation into the death of Philippe Coopman. As the victim has not yet been heard, the prosecutor still added that it was not “possible to conclude reliably on mobile”.

The teenager would not have been the victim of an ambush by a dating site

On the other hand, the magistrate assured that‘it was not a ambush organized following an appointment made on a dating site, as was the case for Philippe Coopman. As a reminder, the latter was fatally attacked by numerous people on the night of April 15 to 16. Friday April 19, during a press conference, the Dunkirk prosecutor explained that two minors, aged 14 and 15, had been placed in police custody and then indicted for “assassination” and “murder aggravated by circumstance of ambush.” One of the two had recognized a “ambush” via a dating site. One of the minors was also placed in pre-trial detention after being presented to an investigating judge. Other suspects are still being sought in this case while a new investigation has been opened to find out if there could be a link between the attack on Philippe Coopman and that of the 15-year-old teenager.
