According to information from BFM-TV, the man would have hanged himself at La Santé prison in Paris. An investigation was entrusted to the 3rd judicial police district to determine the causes of his death. Indicted and imprisoned for several alleged rapes of minors, as of June 2021, the former modeling agent was still contesting the facts. Already indicted in December 2020 for acts of “rape of a minor over 15 years old” and “sexual harassment”, he had been placed under the status of assisted witness for the facts “aggravated human trafficking to the detriment of minor victims for the purpose of sexual exploitation”
Jean-Luc Brunel was arrested in December 2020 in Paris, as he was about to board a plane for the Dakar. Under judicial supervision, he had been placed in detention and had lodged an appeal in cassation. His death in prison obviously echoes that of Jeffrey Epstein, who was charged in the United States in July 2019. From 2002 to 2005, the billionaire had set up a network of young girls he used for sexual purposes. . Faced with the growing number of young women, the Paris prosecutor’s office was then alerted by the American justicee on the existence of French minors among the victims of the man.

Thus, an investigation was opened in August 2019. A few months later, a complaint was filed against Jean-Luc Brunel. The plaintiff accused him of “sexual harassment”. Several models then spokelike the Dutch Thysia Huisman, who claimed to have been “drugged and raped” by Jean-Luc Brunel in 1991.
