Cheers new Year! The first recordings reached us shortly after midnight: This is what the fireworks 2022/23 looked like over Vienna!
Our “Krone” reader videos show the view from 1170 over the city: At midnight, the Viennese night sky was illuminated by thousands of fireworks, even though the city itself had actually not had its own “official” fireworks. “For the sake of people, animals and the environment”, as it was said. The Viennese obviously didn’t want to let their fireworks be taken away – and without further ado took it into their own hands.
