Raclette is more than just potatoes and cheese. To provide a little variety on New Year’s Eve, here are five creative recipes.

It is one of the absolute classics on New Year’s Eve: Raclette. The grill with the small pans is equally popular with young and old. Traditionally, potatoes and other vegetables are served with the melted cheese. Meat and fish can be seared on the upper grill plate. If that’s not fancy enough, you can dare to try these special creations:

Pizza and tarte flambée in the pan

A simple dish for the small pans: mini pizzas. Simply make the pizza dough yourself or buy a ready-made one in the supermarket. Cut to the size of the pan and place in it. Before you can start with the toppings, the dough has to be placed under the raclette grill so that it can bake. It should be a little raised and tanned. Seafood, asparagus or hollandaise sauce look great on the pizza dough. Last but not least, the cheese comes on top. If the raclette cheese is too strong for you, you can use mozzarella or Gouda cheese here.

Tarte flambée also works with the raclette. Again, either make the dough yourself or buy it ready-made. Sour cream, bacon and spring onions are traditionally used as toppings. Red cabbage and camembert or dates and goat cheese also taste great. Particularly aromatic: after baking, drizzle honey over it.

Raclette bread and zucchini noodle bake

A side dish is often baguette or bread. A special delicacy can be conjured up out of this: Simply cover a slice of bread with a little herb butter and raclette cheese and place on the upper grill plate for a few minutes. If it is crispy and warm, roast again under the grill. When the cheese has turned a beautiful golden brown color, the raclette bread is ready. The creation tastes particularly good with cranberries and fried onions on top. But pickled cucumbers also go well with it.

A taste highlight is also a zucchini noodle casserole with gorgonzola. Use a spiral cutter to cut the zucchini into long strips. Fill the pan with the vegetable noodles, garlic, paprika, a little olive oil, salt and pepper and capers and add the Gorgonzola. Slide the pan under the grill until the cheese has melted and turned a little brown.

An apple crumble for dessert

Desserts are also possible in the small pans. How about an Apple Crumble, for example? To do this, cut an apple into fine strips and drizzle with a little lemon. For the crumble, mix the butter, sugar, flour and cinnamon together until it has a crumbly consistency. Then place a few wedges in the pan, crumble the crumble on top and bake everything until golden brown. If you like, you can add some vanilla ice cream.
