New Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom trailer puts Hyrule ‘on fire and blood’

Nintendo ended its latest Direct presentation with a new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomstill expected for May 12, 2023 on Switch.

Nintendo waited until the last moment. At the end of a long Direct of 40 minutes, the Japanese firm has planned a one more thing of circumstance: a new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The future adventure of Link offers sequences a little more talkative, where we learn that a dantesque fight awaits Link.

We also learn, and this is excellent news, that this sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will not be postponed. As expected, it will be available on May 12, 2023, exclusively on Nintendo Switch. Fans will be able to afford a collector’s edition (with a map of the game, pins, a steelbook, a poster and an artbook), as well as a new amiibo figure bearing the image of Link. Nintendo also announced the opening of pre-orders. Note that the price of the normal version will be €69.99, an increase of €10 compared to the price of previous Nintendo games.

In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Hyrule is in danger

Show yourselves my faithful servants. Set the Kingdom on fire and blood. Destroy Hyrule and anyone connected with its cause. And leave no survivors! proclaims a deep voice, which can be attributed to an individual with dark designs. This is a priori Ganondorf, emblematic villain of the Zelda saga. There is a real sense of urgency and chaos that emanates from the images, for an adventure that promises to be thrilling for our hero. Many enemies stand in her way, and Princess Zelda warns that they are being led by perhaps too powerful a being. The face-to-face should be epic, it’s up to Link to prepare for it as well as possible, under a threatening Blood Moon.

At the end, Zelda is heard telling someone to give Link her power. The hour is really serious.

The trailer is not just a way to reveal a little more about the scenario. We also discover new facets of the gameplay. Link will for example be able to move in various ways, with several vehicles (some are strange, in the wake of the tractor shown above). As required by the chosen orientation, this new epic will take place a good part in the air. We also see a glider which should be of great service to the players.

In short, we can’t wait to return to Hyrule, even if the Kingdom will not be very welcoming.
