It’s never too late to come back to the forefront, even after thirty years of absence! Last December, Netflix once again hired one of the most iconic police officers in Hollywood cinema. We obviously want to talk about Axel Foley and, by extension, the actor Eddie Murphy to whom he lends his features. Perhaps this name means nothing to a lot of subscribers, but it nevertheless speaks to several generations since he is the main character of the franchise Beverly Hills Cop. The crazy thing is that Axel Foley and fans of the film series – three were released between 1984 and 1994 – have been waiting for this return for a very long time.
The first time we mentioned this fourth opus was… during the 90s, only some time after the release of Beverly Hills Cop 3. Except that, for the next feature film, it is the beginning of the troubles and these will spread over several years, until we see the light at the end of the tunnel, symbolized by the illustrious producer Jerry Bruckheimer. After postponing the release, Netflix, which therefore owns the distribution rights, finally announced to Alex Foley that it was going to resume service this summer! A few weeks before the film’s launch on the platform, Netflix spoiled its subscribers with a new trailer.

As we can see, Axel Foley is far from good for retirement. Even after all these years, it’s only him who finds himself in the heart of the streets of Beverly Hills aboard a helicopter, while being shot at by the local thugs and giving his superiors a cold sweat . That being said, only he is carefree enough to embark on this new investigation!
As during his younger years as a police officer, Lieutenant Axel Foley will be led, this time in the company of his daughter, a new partner, played Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and his former colleagues, to untangle the strings of a conspiracy . It is therefore always at a hundred miles an hour that we will be able to experience this, and exclusively on the Netflix platform which will add this new part to its catalog from July 3.
