Culture news “I don’t feel guilty”: Christopher Nolan is a fan of this action saga and he is proud of it. It’s not to everyone’s taste!
Christopher Nolan is in 2024 one of the main directors active in Hollywood and certainly one of the most influential. Oppenheimer narrowly came close to a billion US dollars at the box office and yet it is a biopic. The British filmmaker is also an accomplished film buff. He is a fan of an action saga light years away from the cinema he directs.
Christopher Nolan is expected to win everything at the next Oscars ceremony which will be held on Tuesday March 11, 2024 between midnight and 3:00 a.m. Oppenheimer is nominated thirteen times, making it by far the most represented film. He could thus mark the History of the 7th Art if he leaves with a majority of statuettes.

Christopher Nolan is a fan of Fast & Furious
You can be considered an auteur in your own right and enjoy action films designed to entertain and impress. The two are in no way incompatible. In the space of a quarter of a century, Christopher Nolan has produced three of the most significant science fiction films of the 21st century as well as a Batman trilogy that launched the superheroic tidal wave that swept Hollywood Since. He’s also a fan of Fast & Furious, and he doesn’t hide it. During an interview given to our colleagues in February 2024 at InSessionFilmChristopher Nolan commented on his love for the Vin Diesel saga:
I don’t feel guilty about being a fan of the Fast & Furious franchise.
I’m surprised you’ve never seen one of these. There is no need to watch them all at once. It’s only in the later films that a very specific arc and mythology is developed. I would start with Tokyo Drift and watch it as if it were a film in its own right. -Christopher Nolan
The British director had already raised the subject in the past (December 2020) with Collider. He then mentioned his favorite film in the franchise, and it’s not necessarily the one that fans adore. He’s a fan of the first, but prefers the third.
I prefer the original recipe, the original by Rob Cohen. But I have a soft spot for Tokyo Drift. And Justin Lin’s iterations, as they got crazier and bigger and bigger, became something else, but something else quite fun. -Christopher Nolan
