I thought it was pretty terrible. I’m not an extrovert, so I found that level of scrutiny and fame very difficult to take. It all happened at an age when you’re still developing and you’re bound to make mistakes. It’s a very precarious age, especially for women. In a way, you’re still a child. It was traumatic, but at the same time it was the foundation of my future career.

So, looking back, would I do things differently? No, I wouldn’t because I’ve been incredibly lucky. My career is at a point where I really enjoy it and my exposure isn’t as intense. I can handle it now and that’s great. But it wasn’t great at the time and it took me many years of therapy to get to that point.
