A majority of the actors in Peter Jackson’s trilogy have fond memories of filming, the latter having marked their careers forever. However, this actor admitted to never having been a fan of the character he played for several years.

An ultra cult trilogy

More than two decades after the three films of Lord of the Rings by Peter Jackson, many believe it to be the best film adaptation of all time, if not the best feature films in the world. In any case, it is difficult to say that these films did not leave an impression on the minds of spectators. Even now, they benefit from a huge community of fans who are delighted to be able to watch them regularly.

As for the actors, after spending several years in New Zealand filming these large-scale productions, they generally have very good memories. It must be said that these few years brought them closer to each other, but above all that their respective roles were an incredible springboard for their careers. However, the experience was not as positive for everyone. We can cite John Rhys-Davies who put himself in the shoes of Gimli. The latter could not stand the prosthetics he wore for his character, because they ate his skin. DIn another register, Hugo Weaving, who was Lord Elrond in this saga, did not appreciate his experience… Because of his character.

He doesn’t like his Lord of the Rings character

In an interview, Hugo Weaving, who is an actor also known for having played in the Matrix saga, admitted that he did not enjoy playing this character. Surprisingly, he compares this powerful elf lord to a specific object:

To be honest, it wasn’t the most satisfying character I’ve played. Elrond was a clothes horse.

By “clothes rack”, Hugo Weaving surely meant that this character wears long, elegant clothes, but has only a minor impact on the plot (from a film perspective). He would perhaps have preferred to see him fight more in the key scenes. In any case, fans loved his presence, and many believe that the actor is inseparable from the character. If you want to rewatch Peter Jackson’s cult feature films, they are all available on Amazon Prime Video with a subscription.
