What is Nudes about?

The series follows the story of three young people through a season of 10 episodes. Ada, Victor and Sofia are all fans of sending intimate images to their partners. However, they are not really aware of the impact that all this can have. Indeed, all three of them will be confronted with a problem surrounding these images. Sofia will notice the day after an evening that a video of her having a relationship with another woman is circulating on the networks. Victor, for his part, is accused of having distributed pornographic images of a minor, also after an evening. Ada, for her part, notices the presence of her own intimate photos on adult sites, after having sent them to someone during an exchange on a dating application. Even if the main actors are not known to the general public, certain secondary roles feature stars that are surprising to see in this type of story.. We can therefore see the comedian Waly Dia and especially the rapper Gringe, who has already shown his acting talent previously in the series Blocked.

What does the press think?

The press is quite complimentary about Nude, testifying to the terrifying truth of the images she depicts. For some, viewing this series is essential, as it warns about this concept of sending intimate images, as when Numerama titles “it is an edifying mini-series which alerts young people to this cyber scourge”. The production is also highlighted by numerous reviews, because it allows for an atmosphere perfectly linked to the subject.. The media Seriously goes so far as to compare it to Euphoria by describing it as a “teen series with an oppressive atmosphere, driven by a particularly anxiety-provoking soundtrack”. But Nude is not free from all defects. Those that come back the most concern the acting of the main roles and certain choices of production that are sometimes shaky. This is what Les Inrocks expresses in the conclusion of their analysis: “ Nudes is a two-speed series, as salutary in its intention as it is clumsy in its execution”. The general opinion of the press remains very positive about the series, which is a little off the beaten track compared to other usual French productions.
