But some have managed to make an impression more than others, and this is certainly the case with the fourth film in this post-apocalyptic saga which gave birth to one of the most popular characters of the decade, and which returns this year in a new feature film.

The road to success for Fury Road
A few months ago, the first images by Anya Taylor-Joy in the skin of Furiosa surfaced thanks to the first trailer for the eponymous film (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga in original version), which you can find at the header of this article. Unrecognizable with his long hair and without his mechanical arm, this interpretation of the emblematic character of Max Max: Fury Road aims to explore her past in more detail, and perhaps even the reasons that pushed her to betray Immortan Joe in the 2015 film.
Hailed by critics and awarded by no less than 6 Oscars during the 88th Academy Awards in February 2016, Mad Max: Fury Road is now considered one of the best films of the decade, even the century. This success, Fury Road owes it mainly to Charlize Theron (Monster, Atomic Blonde), the actress who knew how to give life to Furiosa and who bursts the screen in the film of George Miller. The strength and determination of the character managed to conquer many hearts, which undoubtedly precipitated the design of a spin-off centered on her, and which we hope will highlight the rise of Furiosa up to the role of “Imperator”.
Furiosa craves revenge
Furiosa goes back to the character’s childhood, which she spent in the Green Earth of Mothers until being torn away by Dementusa warlord in full argument with Immortan Joe for the domination of the Citadel. Interpreted by Chris Hemsworth (Thor, Extraction), the eccentric Dementus serves as the main antagonist in this film, and Furiosa is ready to do anything to not only take her revenge on the man who tore her from her native land, but also to return home. In this trailer, the contrast between the Green Earth of Mothers and the post-apocalyptic desert where Furiosa is forced to grow up after her kidnapping is grandiose, and her motivations all the clearer as she goes from a child of the Green Earth of the Mothers to an “Imperator” in the making. But the real highlight of the show is her physical transformation, where she cuts her hair and gives up her arm to become the Furiosa that we all know, and that we can’t wait to see in theaters on May 22, 2024.
