For over ten years, Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon have not been afraid to stage shocking or traumatic scenes. No one remained unmoved by the Red Wedding, for example… Today, viewers are now much more shocked by other scenes: episode 6 of season 2 of House of the Dragon is the victim of review-bombing because two women… kiss!

House of the Dragon, a series that is not afraid to shock the public

In recent weeks, a decade-old ritual has made a comeback. Yes, just like in the good old days of the broadcast of Game Of Thronesfans of the series and the universe imagined by George RR Martin and translated into images by the broadcaster HBO are blocking out their Monday evening for House of the Dragon or force themselves to watch the weekly episode on the night of Sunday to Monday. A large number of viewers will say that the two series have accustomed them to seeing the worst possible horrors, and this second season is no exception to the rule.

Less sensationalist than Game Of Thrones, House of the Dragon still had time to stage some visually striking moments ! And yet, it’s nothing compared to the writings of the American author who gives us to imagine lots of sordid and cruel situations. Just in the preamble of this season 2, we had the right to the murder of a child. In any case, these situations are not so unusual in the universe of Game Of Thronesso much so that some spectators are no longer shocked by it. On the contrary, they are much more disturbed by scenes of a completely different kind…

A kiss between two female characters that angers some viewers…

On the night from Sunday to Monday, the sixth episode of season 2 of House of the Dragon was broadcast. For our part, we rushed to watch it, which notably allowed to identify three elements which seemed essential to usAmong the lot, we obviously mentioned the alliance between Rhaenyra and Mysaria (aka the Green White) which allows the legitimate heiress to put in place a much more formidable strategy than sending troops to fight in a real bloodbath. In short, we felt that the two women were on the same wavelength, but we didn’t think that such a rapprochement (absent from the books) would happen!

During the last minutes of this episode 6, the two women exchange several kisses: a situation that was not planned in this way in the original script (where she was supposed to exchange a breath instead) but which was suggested by actress Emma D’Arcy during a discussion with the showrunner. The problem is that this passage set the powder keg alight because it did not please a large number of spectators. As a result, some killer notes were published on the site. IMDb leading to review-bombing. Apparently, the series House of the Dragon can feature gory and bloody battles and orgies but it has to be careful when reimagining certain scenes…
