In less than a month, Netflix will deliver to its subscribers a Heroic Fantasy film that is nothing like a fairy tale. Worn by Millie Bobby Brown, The Lady and the Dragon has everything it takes to dust off the tale of the valiant Prince Charming and the princess in distress.

This is not a fairy tale

Recently, Netflix showed us some of its major releases for 2024. Alongside a plethora of content from South Korea, Hollywood should also stand out on the platform this year with several projects, including The Lady and the Dragon. This Heroic Fantasy film with an ambiguous title aims to offer a contemporary rereading of the princess imprisoned and guarded by a dragon with a darker story, in which the heroine is offered as a sacrifice to a terrible fire-breathing monster. A feature film which seems at the crossroads of genres, between horror, survival and fantasy, a real promising project which could find a place of choice among Netflix’s original films.

See you in March

An enticing project, The Lady and the Dragon also boasts a five-star cast, with Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) headlining. Moreover, we also find Nick Robinson (Jurassic World), Angela Bassett (American Horror Story, Black Panther), Robin Wright (Wonder Woman, Blade Runner 2049) and Ray Winstone. The film is directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, a Spanish filmmaker primarily known for his horror thrillers, including 28 weeks later. A first-rate cast, a director specializing in the genre… The Lady and the Dragon has several strong arguments to convince viewers when it is released on Netflix on March 8.
