A few years after the end of the prequel, actor Christian Bale admitted that he would have liked to play a role in a Star Wars film. But not necessarily as a headliner.
An enthusiast’s dream
Christian Bale is one of the most famous actors in pop culture today. Recognition acquired over the years, notably thanks to his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the trilogy The Dark Knight by Christopher Nolan. An important contribution to the DC universe, which did not prevent him from briefly competing with Gorr the Butcher of the Gods in the Marvel film Thor: Love and Thunder. That being said, rather than the world of superheroes, it is that of Star Wars that Christian Bale would have liked to join. In 2022, the actor declared to The Hollywood Reporter that he really wanted to be in a Star Wars movie. But rather than playing a Jedi, he would have preferred to don the armor of a Stormtrooper.
All I’ve ever wanted in Star Wars is to wear a costume and bang my head on a door or something as I move forward. True geeks who have watched way too many Star Wars are familiar with this scene in which a stormtrooper hits his head on a door as he walks through it. I always wanted to be that guy.

A wish soon to be granted?
For now, Christian Bale has yet to achieve his ambition – unless no one knows about it – but he could potentially one day don the famous Stormtrooper armor. And even more. In the same interview, he explained that he had a good relationship with Kathleen Kennedy, who now manages the Star Wars universe for Disney, while he met the producer on the set of Steven Spielberg’s film, The Empire of the Sun.
If I’m lucky enough to be more than that, yes of course! That would be really great. I still have the figurines from my childhood. And then I know Kathleen Kennedy very well because she worked with Spielberg when I filmed Empire of the Sun, and today, she directs the Star Wars universe.
Christian Bale as a Stormtrooper, or even a Jedi knight, so it’s possible. It remains to be seen whether the actor will one day be chosen to join the Star Wars universe. But with the many projects planned soon, the actor has a good chance of one day realizing his childhood dream.
