Great news for fans of the Uncharted saga and for fans of Tom Holland, the Uncharted film will be broadcast on Sunday June 2 at 9:10 p.m. on TF1 ! Ruben Fleischer’s feature film is, as a reminder, also available on VOD on the Canal VOD or UniversCiné platforms. It tells the epic adventures of a certain Nathan Drake, a thief full of cunning and daring, who is recruited by Sully, a treasure hunter who hopes to get his hands on the fortune of Ferdinand Magellan, which disappeared there is 500 years old. But it will be necessary to act quickly before the ruthless Moncada seizes it himself, believing himself to be its worthy heir.
The feature film grossed more than $400 million in the first half of its release in 2022. In France, more than 2.5 million spectators attended. As for the critics, however, the film received a slightly more painful average of 45% on Metacritic.
Uncharted at a standstill?
For now, the news surrounding Uncharted is more or less at a standstill. The latest one is just a rumor and dates back to February: several sources agreed that the very first Uncharted would currently be in the sights of a remake. We owed the rumor to Nick Baker, famous journalist and insider with numerous proven scoops working for XboxEra, who released the information in the media’s latest podcast after inquiring from several sources. But since then, no news. As for a sequel to Uncharted at the cinema, the teams are not closed, on the contrary. The Hollywood Reporter has already had the opportunity to interview the producer of the first film, Charles Roven, the latter obviously doing everything to ensure that an Uncharted 2 sees the light of day: “We had a great time with this movie. The fans really liked it and people who didn’t know anything about the game really liked it too. So we’re definitely looking to do another one“, he said at the end of 2023.
