Directed by Jon Watts, already at the helm of the two previous parts, Spider-Man: No Way Home is the third opus of the MCU-style Spider-Man adventures and it will land on TF1 soon. Indeed, on April 7, 2024 at 9:10 p.m., you will have the opportunity to discover the turned upside down life of Peter Parker after the revelation of his identity (which took place in Far From Home). His life, which was already quite complicated before this significant event, becomes a real nightmare because of this sudden spotlight. Wishing to return to a world where he is anonymous again and where he can live a student life (almost) like the others, he asks Doctor Strange for help. Unfortunately, the spell used goes wrong and opens portals to other universes… and the supervillains of the series from other dimensions infiltrate into that of Spider-Man. And they are not alone !

Criticized a few weeks after its release by some fans, Spider-Man: No Way Home is sometimes considered a lazy episode, focusing on surprise effects and cameos rather than on the writing of characters and story continuity. It is common to see enthusiasts regret the exploitation of the multiverse into which Marvel clumsily plunged subsequently. And we can’t blame the American giant: with almost two billion dollars collected at the box office, Spider-Man: No Way Home is a real commercial success. Disney has since scaled back superhero films due to less exciting numbers and has restructured its MCU.

The script for No Way Home, written by the duo Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, already present for the previous films (and at the head of other Marvel productions such as Ant-Man and the Wasp), therefore did not only make people happy. Inconsistencies are regularly pointed out on the Web, for a scenario definitively plunging towards fan-service which is certainly assumed, but which shows its limits. Its pacing problems and its action scenes which sometimes lack a little aerobatics for a Spider-Man, however, have not dampened the user ratings which are positive on both Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes.
