Tournament in Acapulco over for Zverev

Alexander Zverev caused a scandal in the doubles of the ATP tournament in Acapulco: The German lost his composure after his double defeat and let his anger run free. After the 2: 6, 6: 4, 6:10 alongside Marcelo Melo (BRA) against Lloyd Glasspool/Harri Heliövaara (GBR/FIN), the Olympic champion shouted loudly at the referee (“You f****** idiot») and repeatedly hit his chair with his bat, just missing his feet. In singles, Zverev had one reached the round of 16 after an unprecedented night shift. But the organizers in Mexico excluded the 24-year-old from the tournament after he freaked out in doubles.
