But the Indian woman Erramatti Mangayamma has accomplished this biological miracle with the help of modern medicine and set a new record for the oldest mother in the world. The twin birth is also criticized, because it is foreseeable that the mother will hardly be able to accompany her babies through childhood and adolescence. The previous record holder, the 66-year-old Spaniard Maria del Carmen Bousada when giving birth to her children, died only three years after the birth of the record and could no longer look after her children.
