News in video: mom or dad? Study shows who children inherit intelligence from!

So, dear men, now you have to be very strong. Many of you imagine that your children are something like your little representatives in the world, in extreme cases they may even be your "progenitors" who will represent you even after you die. And an important part of it is, of course, that the child has the best qualities, of course, "from Dad".

Study: Intelligence is inherited from mom

But the fact is: If you are reasonably intelligent in life, you owe it to your mom above all. A new study now shows that a person's intelligence is very much derived from the intelligence of his mother. The basis of this discovery is the so-called "conditioned genes" of humans, which have different degrees of influence depending on who inherited them. To put it simply, it is not only twice as likely that the mother's "intelligence genes" are passed on to the child – the corresponding genes of the father are usually not even activated.

Many test series come to the same result

But genetics is not everything, the mother also plays an important role in the development of intelligence in development. Researchers at the University of Minnesota were able to show that children with a particularly strong bond with their mother were able to solve more complex tasks at the age of two and did not give up as quickly as other peers.

Another study also seems to confirm this connection: It was shown in around 12,000 test persons between the ages of 14 and 22 that their IQ usually deviated only slightly from that of their mother. The alleged "Nobel Prize winners" who provide anonymous sperm donations in fertilization clinics are totally overrated.

Don't panic, dad!

But, dear men, feel flattered anyway: Intelligent children have above all an intelligent mother – and that would hardly want a child with a jerk, right?
