Where to find Adula, the Shardstone Dragon?
The location of Adula, the shardstone dragon, is at the ruin of the Cathedral of Manus Celes in the region of Liurnia. This area is located above the Albinauric Village and is only accessible by fulfilling a few conditions: follow Ranni’s quest and eliminate Astel, the Voidspawn.
Indeed, to reach the rocky plateau which is just above the Village des Albinauriques, you will need to use the elevator that is behind the Astel Arena. Except that the death of the Voidspawn will not allow you to access this elevator: you will have to hold the oath ring to dissipate the protective barrier that prevents you from passing.
The latter is hidden in the locked chest located behind Rennala at Raya Lucaria Academy. This key will be given to you once Ranni’s Dark Shadow is defeated; hence the importance of following Ranni’s quest.
Finally, when you are behind the protective barrier, you will have access to a secret elevator allowing you to reach the Cathedral of Manus Celes. You will be able to complete Ranni’s quest, but also meet Alecto or Adula.
Adula is a dragon like we see a lot of in Elden Ring : it is imposing, slashes with its claws and tail, then spits a powerful breath of magic. So, the strategy to adopt for Adula is not really different from that of other dragons, however here are some tips so that you can facilitate your encounter with this boss.
- Prefer a fight on Torrent’s back, you will have a much easier time dodging Adula’s different magical breaths,
- Attack its paws for greater security, but be aware that its weak point is at its head,
- When Adula starts flying in the sky, take some distance, the latter will spit out a long breath of magic which will knock you off Torrent or eliminate you quickly,
- When Adula spits her magic breath from the ground, run in the same direction as her breath to avoid it,
- Avoid magic damage, Adula has strong resistance to this type of damage since he is himself an opponent using magic. So, prefer piercing, cutting, blunt, fire, lightning and faith damage,
- Intelligence players will need to use sorceries that deal physical damage like gravitational, rock, or beast magic,
