  • How to save the Deku Tree in Zelda TOTK?

Very quickly in your adventure on The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the King, you will be asked to find Princess Zelda. To do this, one of your first instincts would perhaps be to go and recover the Master Sword. And if you’ve already played The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you’d probably be very tempted to go straight to the Korugu Forest to find theDeku Tree. While it’s not a bad idea in itself to recover the‘Sword of Legend (we refer you to our dedicated guide for more details), you may however have a little surprise when entering the Korogu Forest. Indeed, the latter is simply inaccessible, and the Breath of the Wild technique will not work this time.

To reach the Deku Tree in Zelda TOTK, you will therefore necessarily have to go through the Depths. If you want to access it as simply as possible, we advise you to dive into theTylorian Forest Abyss north of the Forest Relay, then move northwest until you reach the roots of the Deku Tree and the Root Aliq Onasum (you should see them from afar). From there you should be able to use Infiltration below the sort of altar near the root, which will take you directly in front of theDeku Tree.

Once you manage to reach this legendary tree, you’ll quickly notice that it has seen better days. Start by unlocking the Musano Qila Shrine so you can teleport here at will, this should be useful to you later. Indeed, to cure the Deku Tree, you will have to face a particularly formidable opponent if you are not sufficiently equipped. Unless you already have a certain number of hearts and some powerful weapons, we advise you to continue your adventure elsewhere before returning here. Among the important objects to collect before going further, we especially remember to amass a good number of Bomb flowersA multiple notch bow as well as meals or remedies based onCluster of darkness For resist miasmas.

Once you are ready, all you have to do is enter the heart of the Deku Tree and dive into the Abyss in the middle of the trunk. Consume one of your anti-miasma remedies now if you have several, and move aside so as not to hurt yourself on the Miasma Hands which will come out of the ground. Once you’re far enough away, hurry up and grab a Bomb flower to an arrow and send it to one of the hands to burn them all. Repeat the operation several times to eliminate them as simultaneously as possible. If you take too long to eliminate them each in turn, they will eventually regenerate. If you have a multi-notch bow like theEagle’s Bow or one Bow of the Sylvans for example, now is the time to use it.

Once this first enemy is defeated, you will not have time to rest since a Ganon’s ghost will appear to do battle. Don’t panic, stay calm, the fight could be easier than you imagine provided you are well prepared. First of all, consume an anti-miasma remedy at the start of the fight. This will allow you to resist the miasma and keep your heart bases, which will already help you greatly. Second, approach the Ganon’s ghostand wait for him to attack you to dodge it at the right time with a back or side jump (depending on the type of attack) and slow down time. Take advantage of this moment to counterattack with your most powerful weapons (don’t hesitate to use Amalgams like the Black horns or even better), and repeat the operation until he succumbs. If it hits you, since you resist the miasma, do not hesitate to immediately regenerate your life to the maximum to maximize your chances.

Once the fight is over, collect all three Cluster of darknessTHE Miasmatic Saber and theDemon King Bowthen teleport to the level of Musanon Qila Shrine to find theDeku Tree. Climb on its roots to speak to it, which will launch a cinematic and will reveal to you the position of the Sword of Legend.
