Summary

  • How and why to unlock the EAT-17 in Helldivers 2?
  • How to use the EAT-17 effectively in Helldivers 2?

If you play Helldiverse IIyou surely know that the game from Arrowhead Game Studios offers a very large number of weapons and stratagems different to face the hordes of Terminides or Automatons that will stand between you and democracy. If the main weapons can all be unlocked thanks to the medals won at the end of your games, the support weapons are generally much more effective but can only be used by deploying certain very specific stratagems. Among them, we find in particular the EAT-17 Anti-tank chargea real Swiss army knife accessible very early in the game which will serve you in particular to pierce all enemy armor such as that of Chargers or some Scout Spiders.

To unlock the EAT-17 Anti-tank chargeyou will simply have to reach the level 3 and spend 3000 Requisition tickets, a very low sum for such an essential weapon. As with the rest of the stratagems, you can unlock the EAT-17 Anti-tank Charge from your ship’s menu by interacting with the screens on the left side of your ship. We strongly advise you to unlock this stratagem as quickly as possible because it is quite simply one of the best in the game and can be useful to you in any game.whether you prefer to play on the lowest or most demanding difficulties.

Once you have unlocked the EAT-17 Anti-tank charge, all you have to do is add it to your list of stratagems when joining your Hellpod to be able to use it in the field. As with all support weapons, you will then need to “summon” the EAT-17 Anti-Tank Charge using a specific code (here: down, left, right, up, down). However, unlike other support weapons, you will only be able to fire this rocket launcher once and you will not be able to reload it. Fortunately, each EAT-17 Anti-Tank Charge drop will be in pairs, so you can fire a maximum of two rockets per drop. Even better, the real strength of this stratagem lies in its particularly short reload time. In fact, you will be able to drop two EAT-17 Anti-tank Charges every 70 secondsalmost every time you need it.

To use the EAT-17 Anti-Tank Charge correctly, we therefore advise you first to ensure that at least one or even two players can summon it in your squad. However, unlike other support weapons, do not drop it at the start of your game to keep it behind your back but rather see this stratagem as a large grenade or an orbital strike. As soon as you cross paths with a Charger, a Corrosive Titan, a Scout Spider, a Colossus or any other opponent who is a little too armored (or a little too annoying), drop an EAT-17 Anti-tank charge and equip yourself in time to fire a rocket at it (or both), then switch back to your classic support weapon. Besides, if your hands are too full or you have a few too many opponents on your back, don’t hesitate to drop the EAT-17 Anti-Tank Charge near your allies so that they can shoot in your place.

Once the EAT-17 Anti-Tank Charge hits, you should normally have penetrated your opponent’s armor enough to attack them with less armor-piercing weapons, at least if you’re fighting against the Terminids. If you are playing against the Automatons and one shot of EAT-17 Anti-Tank Charge was not enough, you will have to continue firing with armor-piercing weapons to finish them off. Note that while the strength of the EAT-17 Anti-Tank Charge lies in its easy and quick use and its high instantaneous damage, you will sometimes have to opt for something even more explosive like a GR-8 Recoilless rifleA FAF-14 Lance or a Orbital Electromagnetic Cannon Strike to defeat the most imposing enemies.
