Class Masters… What are they for?

Masters are NPCs who hold important knowledge about a specific class in Dragon’s Dogma 2. This knowledge is embodied by a unique skill sealed in a scroll that even Class Guilds do not hold. Only experts in these classes have them.

So, if you want to perfect your art in combat, you will have to meet them to acquire them, but not only that… Obtaining their recognition is the key so that they can deliver their secrets to you.

While some masters will introduce themselves to you naturally, a bit like the master Archer-Mage, others will be much more discreet and will wait until you have proven yourself before revealing all their secrets to you.

Who is the Master Champion in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

The Master Champion is named Beren. His position is not fixed, because he could just as well be at his tent that he pitched at the Luisanlunes Garden, north of Melvebut also toBorder Guard Outpost. You are more likely to talk to him in the middle of the day.

So that Beren can give you his secret skill, you will have to follow a small series of quests.

Lion-Hearted Instructor

So that he can give you his mission “Lion-Hearted Instructor”, you will have to fulfill a prerequisite: speak to him during the training which takes place at the training camp of the Border Guard Outpost. Without this first meeting, he will never show up in his tent at the Jardin des Luisanlunes and, out of adequacy, will not ask you for favors.

The first step in this quest is relatively simple; Beren needs weapons. So, take any warrior weapons you want or buy them at Roderick’s Forge in Vernworth. You will need 3, so make sure you have them with you before meeting Beren at his tent.

The second step is just as simple; Beren wishes to have an apprentice. The latter is also located in Vernworth, what a godsend. This is Humphrey, a young boy who will call out to you when you pass by the city’s Portacristal. Although the would-be warrior wishes to become your apprentice, tell him to go see Beren instead. This way, you can complete this part of the mission with one stone.

Once these two steps are completed, return to the Outpost to speak with Beren. He will thank you for the weapons, but especially for the apprentice. Seeing the young man’s determination, Beren regains his former enthusiasm and offers you a duel. Accept and end the duel by knocking him out of the ring.

  • Putting it on the ground, carrying it, then throwing it outside the ring proves to be an effective solution if you are a mage, thief, sorcerer, archer-mage or even an illusionist.

Except that this frank camaraderie will quickly have to stop, because goblins have been seen not far from the camp, so follow Beren to help him in this task. Following this part, the quest “Lion-Hearted Instructor” will end, but it is not yet over for us.

The final lesson

By resting at a camp, then returning to Beren’s tent in Luisanmoon Garden, you will be able to activate a side quest “The Final Lesson”. Your mission will be simple as pie: help the leonin and his apprentices defeat a cyclops.

Following this fight, rest again at the camp, then return to see Beren at his tent, he will announce his departure to his native region: Battahl.

By visiting him at his childhood home, located just after the Border Post on the Battahl side, you will be able to receive his secret Champion skill “Sacred Judgment”.
