Can you reach the Thunder Isles at any time in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?

You probably figured it out for yourself, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a game that emphasizes exploration and lets you more or less go anywhere from the start of your adventure. Some locations, however, are directly linked to a main quest in the game and can only be accessed after fulfilling a few conditions. This is for example the case of Thunder Islands that float in the sky above the Firone region in the south of the kingdom.

To reach the Thunder Islands, you will therefore have to follow the main quest until you have to go there to continue the scenario. You will first have to complete the Piafs, Gorons, Zoras and Gerudos quests. Once this is done, you can finally report to Pru’ha at Keep Watch in order to continue investigating the Strange Phenomenon at the castle. After returning empty-handed from Hyrule Castle, Pru’ha will finally ask you to go find a certain Fifth Sage. It is during this quest that you will be able to access the Thunder Islands.
