News video: Children in Germany are more unhappy than in neighboring countries

Would you have expected that? German children are mostly very unhappy – a new UNICEF study has now found out. You can find out in the video why Germany fares so badly compared to its neighboring countries.

German children are comparatively unhappy

A UNICEF study found that 75 percent of children in Germany are satisfied. However, this only places us in 14th place out of 41 countries examined. In comparison, a full 90 percent of children in the Netherlands said they were happy.

In other words: every fourth child is unhappy

The reason lies in the way German parents are brought up. Since these tend to be more fear-driven, the lack of confidence is reflected in the children's attitudes. In addition to this main aspect, obesity and a lack of school knowledge are reasons for dissatisfaction. Find out all the background to the new study here in the video.
