This advertising is soon to be banned
Children should no longer be allowed to see advertisements in which sweets are presented in a misleading light. This was announced by the Central Association of the German Advertising Industry.
Sweets can cause just as much damage to our health as cigarettes – experts agree. Nevertheless, there are very strict bans on cigarette advertising, while sweets in TV commercials target children in a very targeted manner and are often allowed to deliberately provide false information. That is about to change: The Central Association of the Advertising Industry has announced a radical change of course for candy advertising.
Protect children from misinformation
Children are of course a particularly worthwhile target for manipulation and false advertising promises: They are easy to influence, have a major influence on which products are bought (as every parent knows who wanted to sell their children the wrong nut and nougat spread) – and At best, develop a preference for a certain brand early in life that lasts forever. A new regulation should now better protect the smallest consumers – in the video you can see what that means in concrete terms.
