Chrissy Teigen speaks out on Twitter about a hotly contested debate: Why do mothers feel guilty if they don't breastfeed their babies?

The conflict is probably as old as the invention of dry milk: the question of how best to nourish their own baby after birth divides parents into two irreconcilable camps. On the one hand there is "Team Breastfeeding", which points out the benefits that a child receives from breast milk. On the other hand, "Team Milk Powder and Bottle", for which purchased baby nutrition products simply work better. Model Chrissy Teigen has now interfered in this debate via Twitter: She reports on her own experiences and expresses an urgent wish.

"You are doing everything right"

Teigen is especially important to stop playing off mothers against each other on this issue. She herself had to take a lot of criticism for not breastfeeding her children. The fact that this was not possible for her for various reasons did not matter: she felt like the "bad mother" she was labeled as. Therefore, she is now addressing the public with a passionate appeal and hopes to be able to give other mothers the lack of support in their situation.

Chest? Bottle? The main thing is that the child is happy

In doing so, she quickly comes to an obvious point that is quickly overlooked in the heated debate: Children are different, families have their own needs – and the best solution for everyone involved is the solution that simply works, without ifs and buts. Therefore, breastfeeding mothers are just as little "better" as mothers who use powder and bottles are "worse". All roads have advantages and disadvantages, and it does not help anyone to point a finger at families who have chosen a different path for themselves than you. Should be clear anyway, but still happens again and again. So a reminder that parents are somehow all in the same boat is always a good idea, with which Chrissy Teigen again exposes herself to sharp criticism – and yet she is absolutely right.
