News-Video: Man destroys museum sculpture during selfie attempt

In Italy, a visitor from Austria lay down to a statue and took a picture with it. In the video of the surveillance camera you can see the consequences.

This Austrian tourist in Possagno in northern Italy probably wanted to take a cool photo with this 19th century sculpture. Images from the surveillance camera show how he then breaks off three toes of the statue with his elbow. Then he walks around, looks around, and leaves the room. The police have now identified the man. Accordingly, he was the husband of the woman who had organized the tour of the tourist group from Austria. The work of art was created by the famous sculptor Antonio Canova and shows the naked Paolina Borghese, the little sister of the former French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. The Canova statues are also exhibited in Rome and are priced in the one to two-digit euro million range.
