(Boursier.com) — The metallurgical installations of Nexans in Montreal (Canada) and Lens (France) have been labeled Copper Mark. This recognition echoes Nexans’ contribution to sustainable development and represents a comprehensive social and environmental assurance program for the production of copper machine wire. Nexans is one of the first manufacturers of cables and wire rod, and one of the first copper rolling mill operators to receive this label, in North America and Europe.

The Nexans sites in Montreal and Lens obtained the Copper Mark label following an assessment of the sites conducted by independent auditors. Both sites were assessed against 32 internationally recognized sustainability criteria, including environmental, social and governance standards. Recognition by the Copper Mark highlights Nexans’ position as a leader in sustainable electrification of the world.

Nexans will soon launch the same process of obtaining the Copper Mark label for its two other copper rolling mills, in Peru and Chile.
