NFT: bought 3 million dollars, the first tweet of Jack Dorsey is not worth anything anymore

BRIEF // Jack Dorsey’s very first tweet, acquired for some $3 million, is up for sale again. A year later, it is struggling to find takers and could become a terrible example of failed NFT speculation.

In March 2021, the term NFT is on everyone’s lips and prices are soaring for these digital works. We sell everything and anything, especially anything. Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter, then decided to put his first tweet up for sale (“just setting up my twttr”) published in March 2006.

Proposed on the Valuables platform, this tweet goes for 2.9 million dollars paid by a certain Sina Estavi. Unfortunately for him, the latter does not seem to have smelled the good deal so well. A few days ago, this entrepreneur announced the auction of the tweet, as well as his intention to donate 50% of the profit to charity. Alas, the auction is painfully reaching $13,000 (4.2 ETH) at the time of writing this article, with even higher bids becoming rare. From there to conclude that the NFT speculative madness has already taken a little (a lot) of lead in the wing?
