Nick Cannon was infected with corona. The comedian and ex-husband of Mariah Carey has to take a break from "The Masked Singer".

The new season of the US edition of "The Masked Singer" is due to start in March, but Nick Cannon (40), who was supposed to host the show, will not be there for the time being. Because the actor, comedian and former husband of pop superstar Mariah Carey (50) has been infected with the corona virus and is currently in quarantine, as a spokesman for the 40-year-old has confirmed to the US industry magazine "Variety".

How Cannon is currently doing is not known. The "The Masked Singer" presenter was best known in Europe for his marriage to Carey. The two married in April 2008 and divorced in 2016. They have the twins Moroccan and Monroe, who were born in 2011.

He is supposed to return later

While the first masks of the fourth season have just been unveiled in Germany, which is due to start on February 16 at 8:15 pm on ProSieben, the fifth season of "The Masked Singer" can already be seen in the USA. The broadcaster Fox expects Cannon to be back on board at a later date. In order for production to begin, his colleague Niecy Nash (50, "Selma") will take over the job, at least for the first few episodes, the report continues.

As in Germany, there are strict safety precautions on the set of the US version to avoid possible infections with the corona virus.
