Nicki Minaj and Tracy Chapman have come to an agreement. The rapper pays a fine of $ 450,000 for an unauthorized remake of a song.

For Nicki Minaj (38) the unauthorized publication of her remake version "Sorry" has consequences. The artist has to pay Tracy Chapman (56), creator of the original "Baby Can I Hold You", a $ 450,000 fine. The two women have now agreed on this settlement after Chapman filed a lawsuit against the 38-year-old in October 2018.

Although the song cannot be found on Minaj's album "Queen", which was released in 2018, the track was made public via a radio DJ. Chapman had expressly forbidden the rapper several times in advance to use her music for her own publications. "I am glad to have clarified this matter and grateful for this legal result", quoted "The Hollywood Reporter" the 56-year-old.
