Nicolas Dufourcq officially reappointed as head of Bpifrance

A decree published on Wednesday in the Official Journal (JO) officially reappointed Nicolas Dufourcq as head of the public investment bank Bpifrance, a position he has held since 2013.

Nicolas Dufourcq, 59, was proposed at the end of January by the Elyse for a new term of five years. On February 8, Parliament gave the green light to its renewal.

By decree of the President of the Republic dated February 21, 2023, Mr. Nicolas Dufourcq is appointed Chief Executive Officer of the limited company Bpifrance, simply indicates the decree.

Appointed in 2013 by Franois Hollande, then President of the Republic, he had already seen his mandate renewed for the first time by Emmanuel Macron in 2018 at the head of the institution, which has become a major player in financing, investment and development. support for start-ups and SMEs in France.

This finance inspector, father of three children, began his career at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, then at the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs in 1992. He then joined France Telecom before chairing Wanadoo. Then he moved to the Capgemini IT services group, where he became number two.

Bpifrance is 50% owned by the French state and 50% by the Caisse des Depots (CDC), the head of which the CEO Eric Lombard was reappointed in January.

Last year, the public investment bank devoted 17.32 billion euros to financing businesses, up 11% over one year, including 8.84 billion in medium and long-term loans, and 8.20 billion in loans short-term, which have benefited a total of nearly 13,000 companies.
