Nicolas Zepeda sentenced to 28 years in prison for the assassination of Narumi Kurosaki


The Assize Court sentenced the 31-year-old Chilean for the murder of his former girlfriend, whose body was never found despite intense searches.

Chilean Nicolas Zepeda was sentenced on Tuesday to 28 years in prison for the 2016 murder in Besançon of his former Japanese girlfriend Narumi Kurosaki.

When the verdict of the Doubs Assize Court was announced and after four hours of deliberation, the 31-year-old young man, against whom life imprisonment had been requested, remained frozen, the dejected look.

“I’m not a killer”

Sitting opposite him, Narumi’s mother observed him, her head tilted slightly to the side, handkerchief in hand and still holding the photo of her daughter, whom she has not let go of since the start of the trial, 15 days old. earlier. During these two weeks, Nicolas Zepeda has continued to proclaim his innocence. “I’m not who I want, but I’m not an assassin, I’m not Narumi’s assassin“, he said again, in French, during his last speech on Tuesday morning.

Narumi Kurosaki’s body has never been found despite an intense search. The 21-year-old student arrived in Besançon in the summer of 2016 for a year of study after breaking up with Nicolas Zepeda.

Without telling her, he had come to find her in Besançon and had spent the night of December 4 to 5 with her. The student has never been seen since.
