Did you like Nicole Kidman in “A Perfect Couple”, the number 1 series of the moment on Netflix? You will soon find her in a new fiction that is already making you want to read it.
Nicole Kidman is unstoppable. The famous Australian actress has made a golden place for herself on the small screen by starring in numerous series, such as Big Little Lies, Nine Perfect Strangers and The Undoing.
Recently, she was a hit in Netflix’s number 1 series: A Perfect Couple. In this fiction created by Jenna Lamia (90210: Beverly Hills New Generation, Good Girls) and directed by Susanne Bier (Bird Box, The Undoing), Nicole Kidman plays a cold, cynical, control freak matriarch who supports her wealthy family through her bestselling novels.
This 6-episode mini-series adapted from Elin Hilderbrand’s eponymous bestseller allows Nicole Kidman to once again demonstrate the extent of her talent and confirm her status as a key figure on television. And she’s going to prove it once again with a new project.
After “A Perfect Couple”, Nicole Kidman’s new series
The Prime Video platform has just ordered a new series with Nicole Kidman as the lead. This official announcement comes more than 18 months after the first announcement of the name of the Australian actress in the potential cast, reminds us TVLine.
Nicole Kidman will therefore play in the series Kay Scarpetta, adapted from the series of around twenty novels of the same name by Patricia Cornwell, and will play the title role, that of Kay Scarpetta, a forensic doctor.
The latter returns to Virginia in her old job and plunges back into complex personal and professional relationships, including that with her sister Dorothy, who will be played by Jamie Lee Curtis.
The cast also includes Ariana DeBose (West Side Story) as Dorothy’s daughter Lucy Farinelli-Watson, Bobby Cannavale (Boardwalk Empire) as former detective Pete Marino, Simon Baker (The Mentalist) as FBI profiler Benton Wesley, Rosy McEwen (The Alienist) as younger Kay Scarpetta and Jake Cannavale – Bobby Cannavale’s real-life son – as Pete Marino in the past.
Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis will also executive produce Kay Scarpetta, which will be written by showrunner Liz Sarnoff (Barry). Unlike A Perfect Couple, Kary Scarpetta is here to stay since Prime Video has already ordered at least 2 seasons of the crime series.
