Night restaurant opens – “Finally the guests can sit longer”

The easing of the Covid measures make life easier for the Salzburg restaurateurs. Many bars also opened their doors again. In terms of utilization, however, there is still room for improvement. The “Krone” asked around in the city and state of Salzburg.

Only one meter away and the curfew to be extended to midnight: The easing of the Covid measures are pleased hosts and bar operators. “In the restaurant, it is a real relief for us that the safety distance has been reduced to one meter. We are also pleased that we no longer have to throw the guests out at the bar at ten o’clock. They can finally stay seated longer, ”says Herbert Hamoser, owner of the Baumbar in Kaprun.

The Pepe – a cocktail bar in the city of Salzburg – only opened its doors on Thursday. Bar manager James Broucek: “Before we opened it made no sense. But now we are fully motivated again and will really take off, ”he says. He expects a lot of guests, especially at the weekend, and hopes for further easing in July.

Lungauer still allow their disco for the time being
Lukas Wind and Marco Wirnsperger are also betting on this: The two of them are still keeping their disco villa in Mariapfarr closed for the time being. “If the current curfew regulations are lifted, we will also unlock again,” says Wind – at the moment the operation is not yet profitable.

Until the reopening, the Lungau are now preparing. The search for employees is currently pending; due to the crisis, only four employees were on short-time work. “We’re looking for waiters and taxi drivers,” says Wind.
