Nightingale: A new gameplay trailer and a switch to Unreal Engine 5

After a stint at Summer Game Fest last summer, multiplayer survival game Nightingale returns with a new gameplay trailer. We were able to access a presentation for the press ahead of the Game Awards in order to provide you with new information on this promising title.

Early access for 2023

As a reminder, Nightingale is developed by Inflexion Games, a studio made up of many industry veterans, including many former Bioware employees. It was also bought this year by the Chinese giant Tencent, which we see more and more on the Western gaming market. The title thus has great ambitions in the field of survival games. To learn more about what has already been said, we refer you to our recap video released this summer.

With this new trailer unveiled at the Game AwardsNightingale shows us new gameplay elements. We can therefore discover exploring caves with many dangers and many discoveries or the fact of hovering with a pretty sequence referring to Mary Poppins. We also observe new creatures to expand the game’s bestiary. The game developers have also shown us many concept art which bodes well for the artistic direction of Nightingale which, we remind you, is greatly inspired by the Victorian era.

Inflection Games also recently announced that the graphics engine used will now be the Unreal Engine 5. Currently in alpha phase, the title should soon go into closed beta before releasing in early access in the first half of 2023. For now, Nightingale is only planned for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Although the game encourages you to play with friends in multiplayer (like many other survival games), the developers still made it clear that the app would be affordable in single player.
